The plants of the multinational chemical production company focus on the manufacturing of paints and dyes. There was a huge flow of materials within the factories, and on the spot human intervention and manual handling was inevitable. The analysis of the accidents showed that almost half of the accidents were caused by ergonomic hazards. The company decided to carry out an extensive risk assessment process in order to clearly identify risk sources related mainly to manual handling of loads. Based on these results the company executed ergonomic interventions and reassessed the new situations in order to find optimum solutions.
