Guidance on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the potential risks related to nanomaterials at work

There is pair of publication produced for the European Commission regarding nanomaterials at work:

- The purpose of the "Guidance on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the potential risks related to nanomaterials at work" is to assist employers, health and safety practitioners and workers in fulfilling their regulatory obligations, namely those under the provisions of Framework Directive and the Chemical Agents Directive, whenever exposure to manufactured nanomaterials or use of nanotechnology in a professional capacity is known or likely to take place, with the ultimate aim of ensuring adequate protection of workers’ health and safety. The Guidance offers an overview on the safe use of manufactured nanomaterials in the workplace, sets out the broad outlines of preventive action and provides a practical tool for complying with specific aspects of ensuring workers’ safety, such as risk assessment and risk management. The Guidance should assist in addressing any specific risks or concerns about nanomaterials and thus help ensure that they are adequately controlled at the workplace. Contents include: Terminology and Definitions, Risk Assessment and Management Process, with References on 63 pages.

- The publication "Working Safely with Manufactured Nanomaterials" is intended for workers and provides readily understandable information in questions and answers format on 13 pages.
