New data highlight gender differences in workplace cancer exposures

A new flyer presents key insights from the Workers’ Exposure Survey on cancer risk factors in Europe (WES), viewed through a gender perspective.
The findings show that male workers are more often exposed than female workers to at least one cancer risk factor; however, there are exceptions when looking at specific sectors or occupations.
For example, 48% of female workers in the healthcare sector are highly exposed to formaldehyde, compared with 31% of male workers.
