Vaarallisia aineita koskevat käytännön työkalut ja ohjeet
Jäsenvaltiot, EU:n toimielimet, elinkeinoyhdistykset, työmarkkinaosapuolet ja muut toimijat ovat laatineet joitakin työkaluja ja ohjeasiakirjoja, jotka auttavat yrityksiä tekemään kattavia ja tehokkaita riskinarviointeja. Työkalut edustavat useita eri lähestymistapoja vaarallisten aineiden tehokkaaseen hallintaan. Usein ne liittyvät tiettyihin työvaiheisiin, kuten nesteillä täyttämiseen ja nesteiden pumppaamiseen tai hitsausmenetelmiin. Joissakin lähteissä annetaan kattava yhteenveto tietystä aineryhmästä, kuten herkistävistä aineista, tai tuodaan esiin tietyille aloille tyypillisiä riskejä.
Korkealaatuisen riskinarvioinnin tukemisen lisäksi monissa näistä työkaluista on hyviä käytännön ratkaisuja ja niissä kerrotaan, miten voidaan vähentää riskejä tavallisissa työtilanteissa, joihin liittyy altistuminen vaarallisille aineille.
