How can workplaces support family-friendly working life through parental leave?

Join the English-language online programme of the 12th annual Gender Equality Days 2026 on Wednesday, 7 October! This year's theme, Work, class and money, brings together everyone working or interested to promote gender equality in working life.

In a focused session on the CARE4CAREER project from 14:00 to 16:00 (EEST, UTC+3), experts will present and discuss:

  • New research findings from Finland on parental leave reform and family-friendly workplace practices, and a tool for workplaces 
  • Employer perspectives on implementing parental leave policies in practice
  • Opportunities and obstacles in building family-friendly workplaces

Speakers include Johanna Lammi-Taskula and Johanna Närvi (Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare), Eija Haukka and Salla Toppinen-Tanner (Finnish Institute for Occupational Health), Marie Valentova (Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research), Tanja Auvinen (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health), Salla Rajala (Mothers in Business MiB) and Antti Alén (Miessakit Association).
