Praktische tools en richtsnoeren inzake gevaarlijke stoffen
Lidstaten, Europese instellingen, bedrijfsverenigingen, sociale partners en andere actoren hebben tools en richtsnoeren ontwikkeld om ondernemingen te helpen uitgebreide en doeltreffende risicobeoordelingen uit te voeren. Deze tools vertegenwoordigen een grote variëteit aan benaderingen voor het doeltreffend beheren van gevaarlijke stoffen, die vaak specifieke bewerkingen betreffen, zoals vul- en pompvloeistoffen of lasprocessen. Andere bronnen geven een uitgebreid overzicht van een bepaalde groep van stoffen, zoals sensibiliserende stoffen, of handelen met name over risico's die veel voorkomen in bepaalde sectoren.
De meeste tools ondersteunen niet alleen risicobeoordeling van hoge kwaliteit, maar omvatten ook concrete oplossingen en leggen uit hoe men risico's kan verminderen in veelvoorkomende werksituaties waarbij sprake is van blootstelling aan gevaarlijke stoffen. Ook zijn er tools ter ondersteuning van specifieke actoren, zoals arbeidsinspecteurs, kleine en middelgrote ondernemingen, vertegenwoordigers van werknemers, en nog veel meer. Het loont dus de moeite om de site te verkennen en te ontdekken wat voor hulp er beschikbaar is.
