AN ADEQUATE MANAGERIAL APPROACH FOR SAFER WORKPLACES AND A HEALTHIER WORKFORCE IN A MEDIUM-SIZED AGRICULTURAL EXPLOITATION

S.C. ITC SRL, in association with S.C. Agripol, employs 59 workers and farms 971 hectares of various cereal crops and a 240 hectare orchard.

Given the high risks associated with an agricultural exploitation, ensuring safety at work and workers’ health plays a key role in the company OSH policy. This case study particularly refers to a managerial approach to finding adequate preventive solutions to protect workers’ health during the summer campaigns, which are carried out under adverse weather conditions (extremely high temperatures for long periods of time).
