The guideline, developed by the working group for emerging risks (WG EMEX) of the Senior Labour Inspectors’ Committee (SLIC), is aimed at helping national labour inspectorates to develop inspection procedures for addressing the quality of risk assessments and risk management measures with regard to psychosocial risks.
The guide is subdivided in chapters on:
- the legal requirements with regard to psychosocial risks;
- a general perspective on psychosocial risks (definitions, work-related risk factors, examples, consequences);
- the process of risk assessment of psychosocial risks (steps and methods);
- examples of measures to prevent psychosocial risks; and
- how to carry out an inspection using a preventive approach to psychosocial risks.
The publication can also help employers and OSH experts who want to carry out a risk assessment on psychosocial risks at the workplace level for the first time or who want to improve their level of risk management. It gives a broad overview on all basic definitions, risk management, including hazard identification, evaluation, deciding on and taking measures, monitoring and reviewing. The guide also contains a list of useful publications and links.
