In Slovenia, safety and health at work falls within the competence of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the Ministry of Health. These two ministries monitor and assess the situation in the aforementioned area and on this basis draw up regulations and solutions for the standardised regulation of safety and health at work. Control over the implementation of regulations in this area falls within the competence of the Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia.
Operating under the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, which performs the duties of the EU-OSHA National Focal Point, is a National Network involving the cooperation of government representatives, representatives of trade unions and employers' organisations, experts and researchers in the area of safety and health at work and occupational medicine. The National Network is involved especially in promoting a safety culture.
