At the level of the EU, the Framework Directive on Safety and Health at Work (89/391/EEC) covers all kinds of risks, including psychosocial ones, and lays down the main principles of prevention and protection against them. In line with the Framework Directive, employers must assess the risks to which all workers are exposed and put in place preventive and protective measures.
