Women and the ageing workforce: implications for occupational safety and health - A research review - Information sheet

Based on a review, this info sheet provides key conclusions regarding women, occupational safety and health (OSH) and sustainable working in the context of the ageing workforce.

It highlights the age-related differences between men and women —both, biological and socially constructed — and how these can be managed in relation to OSH. It advocates taking a life-long approach to creating sustainable work for men and women. It also emphasises the importance of considering age and gender in risk assessment to address equality in the workplace and of promoting the benefits of diversity in OSH strategies.
