Accidents at work in the Health and Social Care sector

This report looks at the prevalence of work-related accidents in the health and social care sector, which are on the rise in the EU – presenting challenges for workers, organisations and society. It presents technical, organisational and human behaviour accident prevention measures based on a cause–effect model.

For each type of accident, examples of good practice prevention measures are presented together with gaps in research and knowledge. Policy pointers aim at protecting workers’ health and safeguarding the quality of care and public health.
