Ireland's NISO community of practice: supporting occupational safety and health compliance (Case IE5)

The National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) is a prevention services provider operating as a community of practice in the form of a social network. This case study looks at the beneficial effects of such a mechanism for enhancing occupational safety and health compliance in Ireland.

The report offers two strands of evidence for NISO’s success: continued reach, engagement and popularity; and notable achievement in engaging with small companies and the self-employed. The NISO community of practice approach is suitable for use by other EU Member States.
