Based on the American Magnet model, the Magnet4Europe project was aimed at enhancing staff wellbeing, retention, recruitment and patient outcomes. This case study looks at how Cork University Hospital achieved this through transformational leadership, empowering nurses, and promoting professional best practice and innovation.
With strong collaboration and establishment of nursing councils, the intervention succeeded in improving working conditions and overall staff wellbeing and reducing burnout. It also fostered a culture of shared governance and decision-making.
