Summary - An overview of work-related psychosocial risks and mental health outcomes in the EU health and social care sector

The EU’s health and social care sector has high exposure to psychosocial risks (PSRs) affecting workers’ mental health. This report outlines the 11 most common PSRs in relation to organisational factors and working conditions and to the psychosocial work environment.

Effective interventions to prevent such risks include regular risk assessment, worker participation and creating a supportive work environment. The study gives examples of successful initiatives targeting PSR prevention and mitigation. It also underlines the need to invest in research and data collection to inform policy development.
