This report presents the findings of research on the roles of the Labour Inspection Authority and prevention services in Germany in supporting occupational safety and health (OSH) compliance. 

To explain the findings pertinent to the German context, a comprehensive overview of the distinctive OSH system, recognised as the ‘dual system’ is provided. The report also outlines six related case studies and discusses transferability of Germany’s approach to other European countries.
