Norway's experience and lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic: supporting occupational safety and health compliance (Case NO3)

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, about half of Norway’s employees continued to work at their regular workplace. The Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority was requested to provide support and promote compliance with new infection control regulations. 

This case study outlines how the Authority contributed to limiting the risk of viral spread by offering advice on compliance in Norwegian workplaces, including for immigrant labourers. The Authority made changes to its inspection practices and adopted digital platforms to reach both businesses and their workers.
