Norway's regional safety representatives: supporting occupational safety and health compliance (Case NO6)

Regional safety representatives (RVOs) are especially needed in several industries such as construction, hotels, restaurants and cleaning. RVOs ensure that companies have an elected safety representative with the required training.

This case study focused on Norway’s RVO scheme in construction and in the cleaning industry and hotels and restaurants. Each presents a different situation with respect to the way RVOs fulfil their functions and in relation to the particular industry they are working with. RVOs have in recent years increased their accessibility via digital means to extend their outreach and visibility.
