EU-OSHA marks World Mental Health Day by publishing a report and policy brief on the impact of digitalisation on workers’ mental health.
The use of digital technologies at work is associated with psychosocial risks like cognitive overload, job insecurity, lack of trust, and isolation. These risks can be prevented at workplace level by a number of initiatives, including enforcing existing legislation, carrying out risk assessments covering digital technologies and taking into account their impact on workers. Fostering transparency about the way the technologies work, and involving workers in the decisions on the introduction of the technology are also key.
