Towards an asbestos-free Europe: new EU guidelines published

Did you know that 75% of workplace cancers in the EU are linked to asbestos?

The European Commission has introduced new measures to protect workers from this cancer-causing substance. Updated guidelines and a revised list of occupational diseases aim to reduce asbestos exposure and lower cancer risks.

The guidelines offer clear, structured advice, developed with EU-OSHA’s contribution. They include 50+ photos and over 40 case studies highlighting good practices across Member States, presenting a holistic and realistic picture of asbestos management in the EU in sectors like construction, renovation and maintenance.
