Health and Safety Authority's role in supporting occupational safety and health compliance in Ireland

The Health & Safety Authority (HSA) plays a leading role in the monitoring and regulation of occupational safety and health compliance in Ireland. However, other state bodies also play important roles, which this policy brief highlights as warranting further research to account for their collaborative and innovative initiatives.

Through discussion of three related case studies, policy pointers emerge with regard to legislation, especially in relation to psychosocial risk management, mentoring, the BeSMART.ie online resource and standardising the visual inspection process.
