External Prevention Services in Norway - Considerations and transferability

Keywords:

This policy brief focuses on the role of external prevention services in Norway in two areas of activity: occupational health services, and the scheme of regional safety representatives (RVOs). These support compliance with regulations and occupational safety and health practices.

The occupational health service scheme contributes to improvements in Norwegian workplaces. The scheme of RVOs necessarily has different conditions for different industries, but for all it ensures that companies required to have an elected safety representative have one with the required training. Transferability to other European countries is also discussed.
