Enforcement and guidance activities carried out by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority - Considerations and transferability

This policy brief presents four central activities carried out by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority. They all have potential for transferability to EU Member States.

First, the Authority’s risk-based strategy has high effectiveness when all available measures are utilised. Second, the successes of the inter-agency anti-crime cooperation are attributed to the co-location of the participating agencies as it allows for effective information sharing. The call service is very effective thanks to a team from varied professions and the introduction of a chatbot. Last, lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic are presented.
