The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion has launched the Quality Jobs Roadmap, a new initiative intended to improve job quality and drive the creation of high-quality, future-proof jobs for workers and employers across Europe.

It aims to ensure fair working conditions, support workers and employers through the green, digital and demographic transitions, strengthen social dialogue, and improve access to rights.

What’s next? A first-stage consultation of social partners is open until 29 January 2026, with the goal of presenting a proposal for a new Quality Jobs Act by the end of next year. The new law will update EU rules to better protect workers while supporting productivity and competitiveness.
