USE OF NANOMATERIALS IN TEXTILE FINISHING

Schmitz-Werke introduced into its production process a textile finishing preparation (aqueous dispersion) containing nanomaterials. The preparation allows for greater repelling properties to the textile for dirt, grease and water, which is used for the manufacture of awnings. Due to this introduction, the workers in the company, employees of the company’s customers and consumers were afraid of potential risks from the nanomaterials during production and use. Schmitz-Werke needed to address those fears.
