Mitigating exposure to musculoskeletal risks – the Siun sote ergonomics model

This case study presents the Finnish organisation Siun sote’s ergonomics model supporting its workers in services for the elderly. The initiative is aimed at mitigating exposure to musculoskeletal risks through training and improved ergonomics.

Success factors include the top-to-bottom involvement of all employees and support based on actual risk assessments and targeted measures. While challenges include a limited number of available trainers and relying on the workers’ dedication to their own safety and health, the model has a high degree of transferability.
