Digital technologies for worker management: implications for safety and health. A comparative study of two automotive companies
Keywords:Artificial intelligence-based worker management (AIWM) systems can improve productivity but also negatively impact workers’ safety and health. This report presents the findings of a comparative analysis of two automotive companies in Belgium and Italy.
Study outcomes show that the success of these systems depends on organisational context and the extent of worker involvement in their adoption and implementation. To safeguard workers’ safety, health and wellbeing, companies should develop participatory frameworks and ensure technological advancements align with the practical needs of their workforce.
