Croatia: Managing psychosocial risks in European micro and small enterprises - qualitative evidence from the Third European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER 2019)
Keywords:This report presents the case of Croatia in a qualitative follow-up study of the Third European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER 2019) on management of psychosocial risks in micro and small enterprises. Results from the ESENER 2019 survey and this qualitative study’s interviews with managers and workers in 21 companies are aligned in a number of areas. The country report addresses the findings in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The study identifies a series of challenges, as reported by employers, which may affect micro-enterprises in particular, where actions to prevent psychosocial risks mostly focused on increased communication with employees.
The majority of organisations had no systematic OSH management and many agreed that more support, particularly in the form of training by relevant public institutions, would be welcomed.
