Cognitive automation: implications for occupational safety and health

This report focuses on the automation of cognitive tasks in relation to advanced robotics and AI-based systems and their impact on occupational safety and health (OSH). It provides an assessment of the current state of research on the effect of automation (or semi-automation) of cognitive tasks and the implications for specific jobs, tasks and sectors.

It discusses challenges and opportunities regarding AI-based systems and OSH, presented in the context of a central taxonomy that allows the classification of tasks according to information-related, person-related and object-related cognitive tasks.
