Advanced Robotics and automation: What are the risks and opportunities for occupational safety and health?

Robots aren’t just entering the workplace – they’re revolutionising it. While the automation of repetitive, routine and dangerous tasks provides numerous opportunities for occupational safety and health (OSH), it also creates challenges that must be tackled.

This policy brief focuses on OSH relevant dimensions in human-robot interaction (HRI) and describes the implications for OSH, challenges and opportunities.

The policy brief also recommends workers’ active involvement in the way robots are applied to ensure these systems do not reduce the level of control a worker has over their job.
