Promoting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace

Each 10 October marks World Mental Health Day to raise global awareness and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. Under this year’s theme ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, the focus is on the issues that perpetuate mental health inequalities and to support civil societies to play an active role in tackling them.

Psychosocial risks and stress at work are among the most challenging issues in occupational safety and health (OSH). These have been particularly relevant within the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused a significant impact on the health of individuals, organisations and national economies.

With the right approach, psychosocial risks and work-related stress can be prevented and successfully managed, regardless of business size or type.
