A new EU-OSHA report shows a significant rise in non-fatal accidents in health and social care over the past decade, reinforcing its status as one of the high-risk sectors for workplace accidents.

The report provides an overview of accident trends and examines the most common types, offering prevention measures at technical, organisational and individual level. It also includes examples of good practice and information on practical tools.

The publication is accompanied by four case studies focusing on home and residential care in France, lessons learned from accidents with the ‘new Dutch approach’, an ergonomic initiative in residential care in Spain and preventing violence against healthcare professionals at EU level.

It complements our report on musculoskeletal health and risk factors in the sector.
