46% of the EU construction workers are exposed to severe time pressure and work overload. Many are also struggling with job and financial insecurity, while also facing new demands caused by technological innovation and the green transition. These pressures can increase psychosocial risks, leading to mental health issues. Demanding workplace conditions including outdoor or hazardous work that make workers vulnerable, as well social isolation due to the lack of a fixed workplace are also risks to psychosocial health.

Our new report 'Mental health in the construction sector: preventing and managing psychosocial risks in the workplace' reviews the existing evidence and provides insights on how to address these challenges.
