EU-OSHA participated in an OSH conference in Belgrade, Serbia, organsied by the Focal point, having the aim to promote the activities implemented under the framework of the HWC 2023-2025
On 4 November 2024, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of Serbia (FOP authority) organised an OSH conference to raise awareness on the importance of OSH risks prevention in the digital ear, mirroring the scope of the EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2023-2025, and to provide visibility to the activities carried out at national level.
The conference started with one minute of silence to commemorate the recently happened tragedy in Novi Sad, where a concrete roof collapsed on train passengers killing instantly 14.
The minister of Labour of Serbia and the minister of Labour of Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the conference and underlined the importance of OSH risks prevention in the digital era. They both made reference to the national legislative frameworks that have fully transposed the EU directives. The ministry underlined the level of EU compliance of the national OSH legislation as well as the efforts carried out also in terms of social dialogue. EU-OSHA strengthened the importance of OSH risk prevention in the digital age and explained the contents of the HWC, with specific focus on practical cases falling under the "digital platform work", thanks to the intervention of an expert from the ENSHPO network.
The conferene had the aim to award the best Serbian companies implementing OSH practice. However, in consideration of the Novi Sad events, the award ceremony was cancelled.
