EU-OSHA supports the visibility of the EC funded ESAP3 project launch in Budva, Montenegro

The ESAP 3 regional project, financed by the European Union and implemented by ILO, organised an important awareness and visbility event involving its main project key beneficiaries as well as other important EU and international actors, including EU-OSHA, in the kick-off meeting event, organsied on 22 and 23 October 2024, in Budva, Montenegro

The EC funded Employment and Social Affairs Platform (ESAP) phase III, funded by the EU and implemented by ILO, is a regional project aimed at supporting Western Balkans policy makers, labour inspectorates and social partners to establish fair and well-functioning labour markets in line with the European Pillar of Social Rights and international labour standards.

The event was organised in Budva, Montenegro, and aimed at presenting the project objective and scope and at bringing together the major project beneficiaries of the Western Balkan region, like representatives from Labour inspectorates, ministries, social partners and Civil Society organisations. 

Representatives from the EU and international community participated in the event. In particular, DG EMPL of the European Commission as well as ILO underlined the importance of tackling employment and social policy in line with the EU policies. The event was also an important occasion for DG NEAR to highlight the EU accession path and progress of the beneficiaries and to make reference to the important financial contribution allocated by the European Commission through the New Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

The European Training Foundation (ETF) and the European Labour Authority (ELA) outlined the employment and social aspects in the Western Balkans. EU-OSHA underlined the relevance of the OSH Framework Directive and the importance of its full implementation.
