EU-OSHA’s current ENP project runs until January 2016 and provides an opportunity for ENP partner countries to participate in the work of the Agency by establishing a single contact point in each partner country to provide a platform for sharing information with the local safety and health network.

In the first year of the project EU-OSHA has established contacts in the European Neighbourhood, meeting with representatives from countries to both the East and South of the EU. Our current project has helped us to develop links with Algeria, Israel, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, and Tunisia in the South and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in the East.

The ENP project has offered us the opportunity to introduce the work of EU-OSHA and also the EU system for managing occupational safety and health to our partners in the European Neighbourhood. We have had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Government, National Institutes and Social partners and have highlighted the importance of developing a tripartite network to managing occupational safety and health at work.

We have also had the opportunity to learn more about the systems, challenges and priorities in different ENP partner countries and we would like to thank our colleagues in these countries for their positive and productive approach to our discussions.

Over the course of the project we will translate key materials into national languages and arrange seminars to facilitate the exchange of information and good practice to contribute to improving workplace health and safety in the EU and its Neighbourhood.

We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with our partners in the European Neighbourhood to help make work safer, healthier and more productive for everyone.
