SAFETY IN THE CONSERVATION WORKS OF THE CONVENT OF CHRIST IN TOMAR (PORTUGAL)

The challenge was how to manage safety and health under specific conditions during maintenance tasks on a conservation construction site at the Convent of Christ in Tomar, Portugal, a World Heritage Site.
Problems resulted from the fact that it was impossible to use supporting equipment or machinery on the site, which caused additional complexity and constraints during the works. A further challenge was an increased risk of falls from height in the areas where maintenance works were necessary.
