Long COVID: worker rehabilitation, assessment of work ability and return to work support

This discussion paper describes the impact of long COVID on work ability and how this is assessed. It also describes the challenges facing effective rehabilitation of sufferers, and what good practice to follow. The paper describes tools to assess symptoms of long COVID to be used by occupational physicians, and practical advice on reintegration into work. Information on self-rehabilitation of workers affected by long COVID is also given. The role of management, the general principles employers and healthcare providers should consider, and policy needs related to rehabilitation of workers from long COVID are also discussed.
