Implementation of an Integrated Management System (Quality, Environment, Safety and Health) in Vienna’s Municipal Department

The company had implemented a quality management system in four units, each working independently and had been audited externally. Later, quality management in itself ceased to be of central interest and keeping up with new environmental standards and ensuring safety and health at work became more and more important. The management decided to merge the quality management systems of the four single-units into one general system. Also occupational safety and health and environmental management systems had to be integrated. It had to be flexible enough to take into account customer orientation as well as ensure the best performance of the services of the company.
