Eco-anxiety and its implications for occupational safety and health

This discussion paper explores how climate change is contributing to the emergence of a new mental health issue: eco-anxiety at work, affecting workers psychological wellbeing and mental health. Although eco-anxiety can lead to positive outcomes such as pro-environmental engagement, it also negatively impacts wellbeing. Despite limited research ,occupational safety and health practitioners and policymakers must address eco-anxiety through thorough research, legislation and policy development.
