Eurostat reports nearly 2.97 million non-fatal workplace accidents in the EU in 2022, a 3% increase from the 2.88 million recorded in 2021.

This rise is attributed to the economic restart following the COVID-19 pandemic slowdown.

Despite the rise in non-fatal accidents, workplace fatalities decreased, with 61 fewer than in 2021. Fatal incidents accounted for 0.1% of all workplace accidents.

These findings are part of the European Statistics on Accidents at Work (ESAW) data collection, released by Eurostat, which provides deeper insights into workplace safety across the EU.
