Mental health set vector background concept

Stigma around mental health remains a workplace issue.

A new OSHwiki article examines how stereotypes and discrimination can affect workers across sectors.

People experiencing mental health problems may be judged as unpredictable, less capable or difficult to work with. They may face unfair treatment from managers and colleagues.

OSH Pulse data also suggests that many workers are still reluctant to disclose mental health problems at work.

The article presents practical measures and tools to help tackle stigma and build more supportive workplaces.

HesaMag cover page

Occupational safety and health (OSH) is still too often shaped around a ‘male’ norm, despite clear differences in how women and men experience work and exposure to risk.

In its latest issue (n°31), The European Trade Union Institute magazine HesaMag examines how gender influences everything from psychosocial and ergonomic risks to occupational diseases, digitalisation, heat exposure and care-related work.

It also addresses topics that remain insufficiently recognised in policy and practice, including sexual harassment, menstruation, menopause and the mental health and inclusion challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ workers.
