EU-OSHA meets students of the Vocational Education and Training Karl Gega Construction School in Tirana, Albania

On 21 May 2025, EU-OSHA had the opportunity to meet the teaching staff and some students of the VET Karl Gega Construction School of Tirana, Alania. The visit was organised by the EU-OSHA OSHVET Ambassador from Albanian Skills.

Within the framework of the EC-funded IPA Action 2023-2025, EU-OSHA, with the support of the OSHVET Ambassador, had the opportunity to visit a VET centre in Tirana and meet with the teaching staff and students.

The OSHVET project, managed by EU-OSHA, aims at mainstreaming OSH into vocational education and training and represent a fundamental strategy to anticipate OSH awareness raising and knowledge sharing to future workers.

Ana Zacharian, EU-OSHA OSHVET Ambassador, organised a visit to the VET Karl Gega Construction School and meet with Indrit Gorce, school director, and with Mimoza Myderrizi, teacher and head of the development unit, to provide practical information about the role and the projects implemented by the EU agency, and the project activities carried out by the OSHVET Ambassador. Ana Zacharian and Michele Dinelli had then the opportunity to speak to a class of students and explain the role of the EU agency and underline the importance of occupational safety and health and of a OSH risks prevention culture in the world of work.

The visit to the school was concluded with an accompanied tour to the technical workshops where students have the possibility to develop their practical and technical skills.
