The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work hosted the online conference “Musculoskeletal disorders prevalence, prevention and policy. What have we learnt? Evidence from EU-OSHA research".

The conference concluded a multiannual research programme on work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) carried out by EU-OSHA in the period 2018-2020. The aim of this multiannual research activity was to investigate in detail the issues associated with work-related MSDs, the prevention policies and the workplace interventions aimed on the one hand at preventing MSDs and on the other hand at fostering effective management of chronic MSD, including return to work and rehabilitation. A range of projects have been carried out within the programme, resulting in various outputs, ranging from research reports and expert articles to practical tools and a database of MSDs-related resources. 

The main goal of the conference was to present some key findings of this multiannual research programme on MSDs, undertaken by EU-OSHA with the support of external experts, as well as the results that will carry forward into EU-OSHA’s 2020-22 Healthy Workplaces Campaign on MSDs.  With this purpose, participants in the conference comprised policy makers, OSH practitioners, academics and representatives of stakeholders, together with members of EU-OSHA and the project team.

The conference took place on Thursday 22 October 2020, from 9:30 to 13:00 CET.
