behavioural safety
application of behavioural research on human performance to the problems of safety in the workplace
There are two common approaches to improving safety performance in organisations: the behaviourbased (behavioural safety), and culture-based (safety culture change). The success of both behaviour and culture change approaches is dependent on a variety of factors and, among other things, employee engagement and the commitment of senior management and its leadership (Cox et al., 2004).
