SAFE EXPLOITATION OF TRACTORS AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY

The use of tractors and agricultural machinery is considered the most common cause of accidents at work in the agriculture sector. Generally, the risk posed by machinery depends on the features provided by the manufacturer, including any safety devices and tools, and how the manufacturer’s instructions on the correct use and maintenance of the machine are implemented by the user.

With a view to reduce risks related to the use of machinery in the agricultural sector, the Ministry of Agriculture initiated a purposive project ‘Safe exploitation of tractors and agricultural machinery’. The project was carried out in the period 2007-2009.
