In the unit concerned most of the employees were older workers who suffered from certain physical or psychological handicaps. This unit was supposed to do light work only. This situation led to relatively high costs and frustration among the workers, with high sickness absence rate.
By the installation of the new production line the work of the unit would have become superfluous. The aim of the project was to assess the workstations on the new production line and match them with the abilities of the workers in order to integrate them into the production process.
