The Agency has come a long way in the five short years since the Administrative Board agreed its first annual work programme in November 1996. Over this period we have not only created an efficient network for exchanging information and ideas to improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in the EU’s 15 Member States but also enhanced the quality and depth of our service, attracting new partners outside Europe. Our goal of creating a global OSH portal, underpinned by the latest technology, is now within sight, an objective that moved even closer in 2001 thanks to a number of key developments.
