Description
Life depends on a single burdened thread which can either wear out slowly or snap in seconds. On this thread, unsatisfactory working conditions detrimental to both mental and physical wellbeing weigh heavy. From diseases to dramatic accidents, work-related deaths are far from rare despite being avoidable.
Aiming to discuss the urgent need for a new approach to occupational safety and health, NIVA education is organising a seminar on work-related deaths in the Nordics and beyond, which will take place at the Scandic Park in Helsinki, Finland on the 1st and 2nd of October 2025. However, in-person participation will be limited and sessions during Day 1 will also be available online to ensure broader accessibility.
Key discussions will explore the latest research on work-related fatalities, national and European-level policy responses, prevention strategies, and more. The event will bring together Nordic and international experts, including representatives from the EU and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
