Chemical-Induced Hearing Loss
EU & international information

The website informs about ototoxic effects of several groups of chemicals and gives general recommendations on exposure reduction. A link to a specific publication is provided.

Protective Clothing and Ensembles
EU & international information

The website gives access to several sources about personal protective clothing and ensembles. It is based on a broad range of studies of how chemicals and other liquids seep through barrier materials, leak through small holes or interfaces, or change the barrier material to reduce its protection. It links to a database on personal protective equipment and a guidance document on selecting protective clothing.

Nail Technicians: Workplace Safety and Health
EU & international information

The website gives an overview of occupational hazardes of nail technicians. It lists the most frequently used hazardous substances and suggests measures to reduce exposure. Links to futher information sources are provided at the bottom of the page

Occupational Risk Assessment
EU & international information

The website contains general information about occupational risk assessments and the methods applied by NIOSH. At the end of the page, several risk assessment reports for particular chemicals are linked with detailed information on substance hazards, exposure levels and recommended maximum exposure concentrations as well as necessary controls.

Engineering Control Reports
EU & international information

The website gives access to a long list of short guidance on how to control hazards by engineering methods and personal protective equipment. Among the hazards are chemicals, but also noise, mechanical or physical hazards. The guidance start with a brief problem desciption, gives an interpretation what this means for the worker and explain what engineering technology can be applied to protect the worker. Where relevant, also personal protective equipment is recommended.

Chemical Hazards and Toxic Substances
EU & international information

The website gives an overview of occupational safety and health standards and practices. It provides information and links to OSH standards, explains occupational exposure limits and provides links to respective data. Several, substance specific sub-pages are listed, e.g. on asbestos, silica or cadmium, which give an overview of these subtances, their hazards and prevention measures. Terminology is explained as well as control approaches.
